about the artist

Hey! Hanna here! Thank you for being here.

I starting painting and collaging when I was in elementary school and I never looked back! I would stop by local salons and stores in my neighborhood and ask if I could have the magazines they were getting rid of so I could use them for my collages. My current hair stylist (different one from when I was a kid) gives me their magazines when they’re finished! So the tradition continues.

Art is my therapy - it is how I work through my life experiences, both good and bad, sad and joyful, and all the emotions in between. There isn’t a day that goes by that I do not think about creating something in some form. Whether that is painting, sewing, or even crafting with my kids. I also have a porch goose named Penny, who I enjoy making costumes for lol.

I love color and have always been obsessed with geometric shapes, specifically triangles. For some reason they have always been my favorite. I am inspired most by saturated colors and analogous color schemes. My work is an everlasting study in color, shape, form and layer. While the finished work is mostly the goal - the process of creating it is therapeutic for me, and I hope that the completed works bring you whatever emotion you need right now, or in the future, or in the morning when you wake up. Art is for the people, for you and for me.
